Western China is a beautiful and magic land.

In May 2000, Western China International Fair (WCIF) was created with the progress of global economic integration and China’s implementation of the Western Development strategy.

As a large trading fair integrating goods exhibition, economic exchanges, investment promotion and high-end forums, WCIF aims at comprehensively boosting regional cooperation, promoting Western China’s opening-up, and enlarging cooperation and exchanges with global countries especially those from the Pan-Asian region. To date, WCIF has been successfully held for 11 sessions. In recent years, with the in-depth implementation of the Western Development strategy, WCIF has seen record highs in the scale, exhibition area, number of participants and business volume, and become an important platform in Western China for trade cooperation, investment promotion and summit diplomacy to shoulder the new mission of “improving the development and opening-up of Western China from all aspects”.

The development of WCIF is a miniature of the progress of China’s Western Development. The success of WCIF is the requirement of opening-up, communication and cooperation of Western China, the requirement of the mutual-benefit and win-win result of western and eastern regions of China, and the requirement of the cooperation among the regions in Western China. Along with the booming Western Development, WCIF will surely welcome guests all over the world with great prosperity and golden opportunities.

The Organizing Committee of the 12th WCIF is consisted of the members from the sponsors (organizers and supporters). Liu Qibao, secretary of the CPC Sichuan Committee, Jiang Jufeng, Sichuan governor, as well as officials from relevant state ministries and commissions and western provinces (autonomous regions and municipality) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, work as the directors of the Organizing Committee; Wei Hong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Committee and executive vice governor of Sichuan Provincial People’ Government, work as executive deputy director; designated officials from relevant state ministries and commissions and western provinces (autonomous regions and municipality) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps work as the deputy directors; Huang Xiaoxiang, vice governor of Sichuan, works as executive director.

The secretariat of the Organizing Committee is located at Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs.
The rotating chairman province system will be continuously adopted. The opening ceremony and the Conference on Investing in Western China cum. Ceremony for Signing Economic Cooperation Contracts should be presided over by the major leading officials and designated officials from the rotating chairman province (autonomous region, municipality and Corps).

Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps will serve as the rotating chairman unity of the 12th WCIF.
